Bernard is the Head of Shell Energy China, which is developing LNG businesses within China, as well as supporting Shell’s international sales of LNG to China.

From 2011 to 2016 he was the Head of LNG Marketing for the Sakhalin Energy joint venture in Russia.

He has had the good fortune to work in the Asia-Pacific LNG business for more than twenty years, with assignments in Tokyo, Perth, Singapore, Russia’s Sakhalin Island, and now Beijing. In this period he has held various leadership positions in LNG Marketing, New Business Development, Shareholder Governance and Acquisitions & Divestments.

Bernard is particularly interested in how China is adding its own unique features to the ever-changing dynamic of the LNG business, both internationally and domestically.

Bernard is originally from England, where he studied Physics and joined Shell in 1987.

Ping Lee joined NextDecade in June 2018 and leads the company’s Beijing office. He brings significant experience to the role, in which he is responsible for NextDecade’s LNG marketing activities in China and Southeast Asia. Lee has more than 25 years of industry experience. He is the former President and Asset General Manager of BG Group, China, a position he held until 2016. Dr. Lee was instrumental in building BG Group’s commercial and E&P interests; before its acquisition by Shell, BG Group had become China’s largest LNG supplier. Prior to his time with BG Group, Lee held positions of increasing management responsibilities with Schlumberger, ultimately serving as Area President of Schlumberger from 2007 until 2011. He began his career with Schlumberger as a Research Scientist in 1990 in Austin, Texas. Lee holds masters and doctorate degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics, respectively, from Cornell University. He completed his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York in Buffalo. Dr. Lee serves on the Board of Directors of Cornerstone Bank in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gisele joined SGX Shanghai in 2018, in charge of business development and marketing for SGX derivative contracts in China, with focus on commodity related products, i.e Iron Ore, Coal, FFA and Rubber etc. Before joining SGX, she was a paper trader in the Ferrous Industry in Singapore. Gisele was graduated from the national university of Singapore, with a bachelor degree of Engineering, she also holds a master degree of science in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University.


Jingjing Wu

Deputy Director, Market Research Dept CISA

Jingjing has 25 years working experience in iron and steel industry. He is the Head of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). He does market research and develops policies in steel products exports and imports, iron ore imports, and steel products derivatives. Jingjing also leads prosecutions and responses to the investigation of the WTO Trade Remedy Measures, and negotiations and studies of bilateral and multilateral economic and trade arrangements in Free Trade Zones (FTZs). He develops articles for the Antitrust Law – a component of the Competition Law. Jingjing has made production plans and deals with exports and imports of iron and steel for the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and the State Bureau of Metallurgical Industry in China.

Sebastian Lewis is based in S&P Global Platts Shanghai office. As Platts senior leader in Greater China, Sebastian oversees Platts analysis of China’s oil sector and is responsible providing insights and analysis around China’s interaction with the Global economy and commodity markets.

Prior to joining S&P Global Platts, Sebastian was Head of Research & Consulting Asia for Steel Business Briefing (SBB), which was acquired by S&P Global Platts in July 2011. Sebastian holds masters degrees from Edinburgh & Leeds universities & studied mandarin in Taiwan.

Calvin manages the market reporting team that assesses crude oil, refined products and Platts Forward Curve spot prices for the east of Suez markets.

Calvin joined Platts in October 2005, and was promoted to Managing Editor in June 2009. Calvin began to serve as Senior Writer, China in October 2010 and was responsible for overseeing Platts' coverage of all energy news across China market. In February 2012, Calvin took a leadership role to lead and coordinate the execution of Asian methodology changes and assist in the introduction of new price assessments in Asia. In June 2015, Calvin re-joined the oil team as Associate Editorial Director, Asia & Middle East oil markets, managing the crude, fuel oil, bunker and Platts Forward Curve markets coverage.

Calvin holds a degree in business administration from the National University of Singapore and a master’s degree in international business from Australia’s Curtin University.

Dexter is the Asia lead for market engagements. He spearheads the efforts in Asia to engage the oil community about S&P Global Platts price assessment methodology for crude oil, refined product and shipping markets. He provides insight into market developments and trends, and gathers feedback about the Platts methodology. Since joining Platts in April 2015, Dexter covered major oil product assessments, worked on methodology improvements and launching new assessments. Prior to this, Dexter covered the petrochemical markets. Dexter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Ciaran Roe manages the S&P Global Platts LNG content team. This group is responsible for key price assessments, including Platts JKM. Previously Ciaran has worked in pricing across major bulk commodity markets, ranging from crude oil to oil products to iron ore. In the process, Ciaran has developed some of Platts most well-known global benchmarks such as Dated Brent. Ciaran is a regular speaker at industry events & media on subjects ranging from the impact of tariffs on trade and the energy transition. He has a multi-discipline MA from the University of Edinburgh.

Perth, Australia-based journalist Mike Cooper leads S&P Global Platts thermal coal market coverage in Asia. As a senior editor he oversees price assessments for the China and Australian thermal coal markets, and he recently completed his MBA studies at the University of Western Australia.

Shi Yun is an associate editor at S&P Global Platts reporting on Asia LNG markets and is responsible for the daily assessment of Platts JKM™. Prior to this, Shi Yun specialized in the banking industry and had experience in analysis at Citi’s Sales & Trading and DBS’s Institutional Banking. Shi Yun graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) and passed Level III of the CFA Program.

Serena Seng is currently the managing editor of the Asia Petrochemicals team leading a team of editors with a key focus on the Olefins and Polymer markets. She joined the Platts Petrochemicals team in May 2015 and was a senior editor covering the aromatics markets, particularly in toluene where she refined the methodology for the CFR China assessments. She has also presented in various petrochemical conferences on various aromatics markets such as in the South Korean Chemical Market Research Inc conference in Seoul 2017 as well as having chaired and moderated a keynote panel at the 6th Annual Platts Petrochemical conference in Shanghai in 2017. Prior to joining the Petrochemicals team in 2015, she has spent the last two years as an analyst at The Steel Index, a Platts Metals business unit covering the metallurgical coal markets and has helped launched the CFR China indices, swaps and futures cleared on the Singapore Exchange.

He graduated with a Master of Science in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment from University College London in 2016. Frank previously worked on energy policy at Prime Minister’s Office Singapore, and has five years of experience in policy formulation, management consulting and market price assessments in energy and commodities.

Prior to joining Platts, he was a business analyst in the power and energy sector specializing in commodity data management. He has 8 years of experience in the commodity sector, 10 years of scientific experience and holds a M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University, Canada.

His previous work experience was concentrated in investment banking and risk management. He holds a Masters degree in Finance from Toulouse Business School, France.

Ivy is from S&P Global Platts Agriculture team, specializing in oilseeds pricing in Chinese Market. Ivy has a strong soybean market background. Before joining Platts, she worked for a state-owned crushing enterprise in a senior role as freight and basis trader. She has a deep understanding of crush margin management, with rich practical experiences in international soybean trading and contact execution. She also worked as an agricultural analyst in a securities and futures company, particularly in research of soybean meals market and trading strategy of soybean meal futures and OTC options.

Donavan is the editor of the Asia Biofuels, overseeing ethanol and biodiesel markets in Asia. Donavan holds a Master’s degree in Applied Finance from Singapore Management University in Singapore.

Julien Hall leads the Asia metals team for S&P Global Platts, which includes oversight of iron ore, coking coal, steel and non-ferrous metals.

Julien has spent 10 years at S&P Global Platts in a variety of roles, including in steel, iron ore and metallurgical coal. Between 2015 and 2017, he headed the Asia agriculture team, helping to build out coverage of grains, biofuels and sugar. Before working for S&P Global Platts, he was editor of a specialized newsletter focusing on the French private equity industry.

Niki joined S&P Global Platts’s iron ore pricing team in 2017 as a senior analyst. Before that, Niki has 7 years working experience in metal industry. During which she has built good skills on market intelligence, risk management and knowledges on commodity and financial markets. Niki holds the qualification of CICPA and ACCA.

Keith Tan is senior managing editor for steel and scrap at S&P Global Platts, having joined in 2007 after earlier stints at petrochemical market information provider ICIS and DaimlerChrylser. Initially covering the Asian petrochemical markets out of the company’s Singapore office, Keith joined the metals group in 2010 and was part of the team that built the benchmark Iron Ore Index. He relocated to Shanghai in 2015 to expand the team’s coverage of Chinese steel exports and pricing. As of 2017, he heads coverage of steel and scrap markets in Asia. Keith graduated with first class honors from the National University of Singapore.

Arne Petter Kolderup joined S&P Global Platts in October 2017 as the Regional Manager Asia, Metal Derivatives. He holds a ”Master in Business and Economics degree” from BI Norwegian Business School with specialization in shipping. He has worked as a derivatives trader for Klaveness in Oslo, Mercuria in Singapore, and also worked for several inter dealer brokers such as Imarex, GFI, FIS and Marex Spectron. He has a total of 20 years in the derivatives business in various dry bulk markets such as freight, thermal coal and metals.

Before starting his career in the metals business, Jeffery spent the past decade in agriculture as research analyst with some time spent as a trader, for some of the largest commodity firms globally including Noble Group, Czarnikow Group and RCMA Group. Jeffery has a master’s degree in intercultural business communication.

Dr. Kang Wu has over 25 years of energy analytics, consulting, and research experience. He conducts studies of energy policies, security, demand, supply, and trade with special emphases on oil, gas, coal, petrochemicals, biofuels and other commodities. Based in Singapore, Kang is part of the S&P Global Platts Analytics global leadership team and is responsible for developing an integrated commodities view in the region. Prior to joining S&P Global Platts, He was a director and senior research fellow with King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in charge of a program for doing research on global oil, gas and coal markets with a particular focus on Asia and the Middle East. Kang also held vice chairman, managing director, senior fellow and senior advisor roles in energy research and consulting, covering a variety of issues related economic, energy and environmental developments in Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, and Pacific Island economies, including many years of work at FGE, an international oil and gas consultancy and the East-West Center, an institution established by the US Congress.

Kang speaks frequently at international conferences, forums, workshops and training programs. His research and consulting work has been widely cited by the press and industrial media. In 2003, Kang testified before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on the impact of China’s energy sector and market developments on the rest of the world. Kang is the author and co-author of numerous analytics and project reports, research papers, journal articles, books, book chapters and other publications

Kang holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in economics from the US and a B.A. in international economics from China.


Jeffrey Moore

Jeffrey is the Manager of Asian LNG Analytics, based in Singapore. He has been at S&P Global Platts for over six years, analyzing the commodities markets. He currently oversees the forecasts and data related to the liquefied natural gas markets for all importing and exporting countries in Asia. Jeff's work feeds weekly and monthly analytic publications and datasets which support S&P Global Platts Analytics increasingly important presence in the LNG markets in Asia. He is also responsible for the Platts Analytics JKM price forecast. Prior to moving to Singapore, Mr. Moore was a senior analyst focused on the North American market and produced regional fundamental forecasts which fed into the price forecasts for various hubs across the continent, including Henry Hub. Jeff has spoken at multiple conferences and contributed to panels across the world speaking on topics ranging from natural gas prices, storage, production and LNG. He holds a degree in economics from Colorado College.


Eshwar Yennigalla

Eshwar is responsible for refinery petrochemical simulations and forecasts, developing models for short-term and long-term petrochemical outlooks, production cost analysis tools and contributes towards developing new analytics products. He extensively covers the global ethylene and aromatics value chains and is a regular speaker at petrochemical forums.




Zhuwei Wang

Zhuwei Wang is a senior analyst based in Platts Beijing office, covering China oil analytics. He reengineers real-time models to forecast trade flow arbs, stock changes, refinery economics and oil balance in China. As a member of S&P Global China Senior Analyst Group, he also provides insights on China’s economy and commodity landscape.

Zhuwei has substantial knowledge of energy sector with a focus on oil industry. Before joining Platts, Zhuwei was a senior analyst at SIA Energy consultancy, focusing on analytics of crude oil trade flow. Prior to that, he was a program officer at the National Energy Administration of China, specializing in financial approval of energy projects and international energy cooperation for six years. He was once seconded at the International Energy Charter Secretariat at Brussels for one year and facilitated China to join the International Energy Charter Declaration.

Zhuwei holds a Master degree in Finance from the Renmin University of China and Dual Bachelor degrees in Arabic Literature and Accountancy from the University of International Business and Economics in China. Zhuwei is trilingual in Arabic, Chinese and English.

Danny Huang is a Director in Corporate Ratings and the lead analyst of China commodities, based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for leading the credit analysis of companies in the China commodities sector including oil & gas, coal, metals and chemicals. Before joining S&P Global Ratings in January 2016, Danny had been a sell-side equity analyst for nine years covering utilities and oil & gas companies at UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Citi. Danny started his career in auditing at KPMG. Danny graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a BBA degree in Professional Accountancy. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
