Matt is responsible for driving growth and business development in blue hydrogen at bp. He is passionate about bp’s purpose to reimagine energy for people and our planet. He leads a global team developing clean hydrogen projects.

Matt joined bp in 1996 as after graduating as a chemical engineer. His first role was as an environmental engineer and following a succession of business development roles across the gas and upstream businesses he is delighted to be at the forefront of reducing carbon emissions. He has worked across a number of geographies including US, UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and Vietnam and is currently based in London.

Craig Jones is a partner in S&C’s London office with more than 25 years of experience advising sponsors and lenders on project development and finance. He has a keen interest in renewable and sustainable finance, having worked on his first wind farm financing in Evia in Greece more than 20 years ago, and plays a leading role in S&C’s work and thought leadership on hydrogen and renewable energy.

Bert has always been involved in advising and arranging multiple financings for large projects and corporates in the Energy sector. In the Storage space his team has financed various transactions with Vopak, Oiltanking, Varo, Puma, Gunvor, Vesta and many financial infrastructure players and local storage companies.

Prior to starting at ING in 2005, Bert has had similar responsibilities at Shell, EBRD and ABNAMRO -including policy and strategy discussions.
Currently Bert is member of the ING Energy Sector Management Team. Bert holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente.

Mirela ATANASIU is the Head of Unit of Operations and Communication in the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, FCH JU (Public-Private Partnership between European Industry and Research Community, and European Commission) since 2016. Previously, for more than 12 years she was a Senior Project Manager and Research Programme Officer in the FCH JU and European Commission (Directorate R&I/Energy), following on a background experience as researcher in the Energy sector in Romania. She holds an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering/Materials Science and an M.Sc. in Economics/Cybernetics and Economic Analysis.

Martin Lambert is a Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. He leads their work on renewable gas and hydrogen. Since leaving Shell in 2016, in addition to his work with the Institute, Martin works as an independent consultant specialising in the international gas and LNG business.

Martin’s 34 year career with Shell included several senior leadership positions in the gas, LNG and biofuels businesses. He spent around half his career overseas, including assignments in Germany, Japan and the Philippines. From 2011 to 2015 he was seconded to North West Shelf Australia LNG as Senior Vice President Marketing.
