Energy Markets and Energy Transitions

With the greater Caribbean region still devastated by the coronavirus, new realities are in play: dropping demand for electric power, sharp declines in tourism, high unemployment, and the human toll of the pandemic. Countries are still taking stock of the damage and planning for recovery once the pandemic is under control.

This new webinar from Platts builds on over 20 years of annual Platts conferences covering both Central America and the Caribbean.

The program condenses the key issues and debates into two hours of in-depth discussion about the direction and movement of energy in both Central America and the Caribbean. We will cover global market trends and the way they are impacting energy transitions.

Central American and Caribbean Energy Virtual Conference

June 16-17, 2021

This new, two-day online event builds on two successful annual events that have taken place for more than 20 years: the Central American Energy Conference and the Caribbean Energy Conference. This year, because of the pandemic, we're combining the two events as a virtual conference, covering both regions and their fundamental energy challenges.

Hear the key issues and debates over two days of in-depth discussion about the direction and movement of oil and gas, electric power, and energy investment.

What will you hear about?

  • Economic challenges and new standards—Insights into the economies of the Caribbean and Central America, and the changing outlook for energy in the region, struggling with the effects of the global pandemic
  • Perspectives on electric power—New policy directions, energy investment and new power projects coming online
  • Natural gas supply to meet future growth in demand—What are the demand trends for natural gas, and what is the outlook for expansion of small scale LNG?
  • Risks and opportunities for investors—How are projects being financed, and where are the opportunities against a background of economic challenges?

The program is currently in development. Let us know you're interested and we'll email you more details and a complete agenda as soon as they're available.
