Lara Berton

Lara Berton, Global Methanol Lead

Lara Berton is the Global Methanol Lead in European Petrochemicals at S&P Global Platts in London with a special focus on methanol, olefins and polymers. Prior to Platts Lara graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with an MSc in Local Economic Development. She also holds a BSc in International Politics from City University. She speaks fluent English, Italian, and Spanish.

Luke Milner

Luke Milner, Managing Editor

Luke Milner joined Platts in October 2017 and currently works as part of the European olefins and polymers team. Luke has over four years’ experience reporting on petrochemical markets in Europe and, prior to moving into the petrochemical markets, spent several years reporting on a diverse range of industries, including banking, shipping and retail. Luke studied Modern European Languages at the University of Durham and has spent time working in Italy, France and Brazil, as well as in the UK.

Ellie Valencia

Ellie Valencia, Senior Pricing Specialist, Americas Petrochemicals

Ellie Valencia is a Senior Pricing Specialist with the Americas Petrochemicals team, covering a range of aromatics including methanol. Ellie graduated from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2017 with a degree in International Politics. Prior to joining Platts, Ellie completed professional development programs with BP America, IHS Markit and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Esther Ng Choo

Esther Ng Choo, Senior Editor, Asia Petrochemicals

Esther Ng is a Senior Editor with S&P Global Platts’ petrochemical desk. She covers the Asian methanol, acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer markets. She has been at Platts for six years and was previously covering Asian bunker fuel, biodiesel and ethanol markets.
