How are sugar producers and traders managing risk and finding opportunities?

With sugar markets struggling under the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry is working hard to recover and build a more solid future.

How are sugar prices impacted? What are governments doing to step in? What’s being done to mitigate risk? Are there opportunities to be found?

This event builds on the successful Miami Sugar Conference series, launched in 2014. It features the leading voices of the sugar industry in the Americas.

As an online offering, the key issues and debates will be condensed into two hours of in-depth discussion about the direction and movement of the sugar industry. We’ll cover global sugar market trends, and the views of sugar analysts and traders with an understanding of sugar in the Americas.

What's included

You can expect live presentations, live interaction, and the opportunity to engage in questions and answers with the speakers throughout, right from your desk. This event also includes a networking app you can access from your computer (as well as your phone), so you can reach out to other attendees before, during, and after the event. See below for more details.

Key topics we'll cover

  • Sugar price outlook—What can we understand from the events of 2020, and what is the outlook for recovery moving into 2021?
  • Longer term outlook for sugar markets and prices, regionally and worldwide
  • Government policies supporting sugar, and new changes underway
  • Focus on sugar production and the business environment for Brazil, Central America, and Mexico
  • What sugar producers and traders are doing to manage risk in the new pandemic-driven world

Networking, bonus content, and more

Do more with your registration. You'll receive access to our online event tool in advance of the conference. Use it to:

  • Build your network—You can't "work a room" like you used to. Now you can see who else is registered, help people find you, and exchange contact information digitally.
  • Connect—Use 1:1 messaging to introduce yourself. Conversations are saved and searchable for your convenience.
  • Enjoy extra content—Get Platts sugar market news, exclusive content, and more leading up to the event. Find out about event updates as they happen.
  • Share—Add your social media profiles to the tool to easily post, share, and connect. Check the real-time activity feed to learn what other attendees are thinking right now.
  • Take it all with you—Use the tool to take notes, then export them (and share with other attendees). Look up contacts and conversations later. Visit the replay for a refresher and to download speaker presentations. Install the mobile app version for easy access from anywhere.
