This training course provides an in-depth investigation into the valuation and pricing of LPG with useful discussion on trade and contracts; it also explores how the Energy Transition will affect LPG markets and some implications for pricing.
 

Course Content

Walk away with a better understanding and practical strategies of:
 
• The course starts with some fundamental context necessary to understand LPG / NGL valuation such as production, end use markets, competition and specifications.
 
We discuss global and regional benchmark pricing and indexes, how prices are discovered by price reporting agencies, how NGLs trade on the wholesale level, why regional pricing hubs develop, the role of arbitrage and transportation costs, and what contributes to retail prices. 
 
 We talk about term contracts, the use of benchmarks and pricing formulas, the drivers for LPG prices, and taking a forward view on prices. We discuss how LPG valuation can differ from pricing in industry, and how that difference can influence prices.
 
The course ends with discussion of the trends and issues that will shape the future of the NGL / LPG industry – especially concerning the Energy Transition and associated efforts at decarbonization and the introduction of renewable LPG.
