S&P Global Platts Webinar: How is the growth of derivatives contracts reshaping the world’s vegetable oil markets?

The explosive growth in global oilseeds and vegetable oils supply has started to level off, leaving the industry facing new vistas ahead. New mandates in the biofuels sector will lead to radical changes in demand for vegetable oils, while in the food markets European consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental and economic impact of the crops which supply their needs.

With the European vegetable oil market on the cusp of rapid change, Platts provides the industry with solutions to manage that change. Our price assessments provide a window of transparency into a number of otherwise opaque markets, while a growing number of Platts-based derivatives offer the opportunity for companies to better-manage risk.

This webinar brings together S&P Global Platts agriculture specialists to discuss the state of the European vegetable oils market and the development of new pricing benchmarks to meet the market's needs.
