Desmond Wong

Desmond Wong

Managing Editor, European & Atlantic Basin LNG, S&P Global Platts

Desmond Wong tracks the Atlantic basin LNG market from London, tracking developments in Europe, Latin America and Africa. He previously covered the Pacific basin LNG market with a focus on China, Indonesia and Australia. In addition to cargo markets, Desmond also follows the evolution of LNG in the small scale markets, as a transportation, bunker and industrial fuel.
Prior to joining Platts, he spent time as a broadcast equity markets reporter and covered corporates for broadsheets in Asia.
He holds a double major BA from the National University of Singapore in Philosophy and English Literature, and a MA in Philosophy from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Desmond also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.

Francis joined S&P Global Platts, the price reporting agency, commodity news and analytics publisher in 2006, to head their steel initiative. Now a Director in the price group, he leads a global team with responsibility for price assessment methodology and market development across Platts growing market reporting, in all commodity sectors.

Fabio joined Platts in 2014 and oversees EMEA gas & LNG news, as part of the Energy News team. Before joining Platts, he accrued nearly 10 years of experience in energy analysis, trading and origination, working for BG Group, ENI and GE.
Fabio’s area of expertise includes market fundamentals and quantitative analysis, deals origination/structuring/execution and the gas and power value chain and economics.
Fabio holds a postgraduate master’s degree in energy and environmental economics from Scuola Enrico Mattei and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. Fabio speaks English, Italian, Spanish and French
