Ms. Engelhardt is the Associate Director in the Investment Banking division within CIBC FirstCaribbean, which she joined in 2007, with over 16 years of experience within the financial sector, including banking, financial advisory, capital raising in various industries, regional and international. At CIBC FirstCaribbean she worked on and led a wide range of transactions regionally in industries such as hospitality, real estate, energy & utilities, sovereign and infrastructure. Prior to joining CIBC FirstCaribbean, she worked at companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers in the execution of complex management consulting and corporate finance engagements in various sectors. Ms. Englehardt holds a Master’s degree from the University of Tilburg, Netherlands.

Mr. Garcia is a director of the CNEE, the National Electric Energy Commission of Guatemala. He has had a long and distinguished career with the electric power industry in Guatemala, serving in senior executive positions for electric power systems and energy trading. Mr. Garcia has a master’s in Operations Research from the UFM and an MBA from INCAE.

Ms. Gómez is a financial professional with expertise in investment banking, project finance, private equity and capital markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Before coming to the IDB, she held senior finance positions with CIFI and the Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica. Ms. Gómez has a Master’s in Global Management from Tulane University and an MBA from the Universidad de los Andes.

Mr. Levy has worked in the power and energy industry for more than 35 years. Prior to founding BMR Energy, he was the CEO of International Power’s North American IPP business, responsible for over 7,000 MW of oil, gas, coal, wind and solar power generation throughout the region. Before IP, he served as CFO of GPU, Inc., an electric utility company serving over 2 million customers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He also previously served as President and CEO of GPU International, a non-regulated subsidiary of IP that developed, acquired and operated generation and utility systems through the U.S., South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Mr. Levy has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from City College of New York, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Mr. Louisy is a Mechanical Engineer with a profound interest in power generation, energy services, artificial intelligence, and real estate. He has over seven years’ experience deploying both renewable and conventional generation projects in Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Mr. Louisy has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.

With 20 years of expertise in the power and gas markets, Freddy serves as the AES Chief Commercial Officer for the Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean (MCAC) SBU. Freddy leads the commercial activity in the AES MCAC region for existing assets and commercialization of new projects to support growth. The commercial area manages the sales of the associated production of +4,000 GW of AES thermal, hydro and renewable assets in Central Americal and the Caribbean, through the development of a portfolio of utilities and private customers with innovative structures, new products and solutions, including LNG supply, to help our customers reach their energy goals. During his tenure at AES, he has overseen the development of AES portfolio of natural gas and LNG clients, and actively participated in important projects that has shaped our business in the MCAC region. These projects include the DPP Combined Cycle Project, the Eastern Pipeline and our successful gas business. While promoting the use of the new fuel across the island and the Caribbean, Freddy has been instrumental in AES' extraordinary achievements in the transformation of the energy matrixes to be cleaner and more resilient in the Dominican Republic and Panamá. Freddy holds an Executive MBA from Barna Bussines School. With prestigious scholarships, he took specialized postgraduate courses in power and gas markets in both Spain and Argentina. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Freddy has represented the generation companies in the Dominican Republic Independent System Operator and regularly serves as an expert speaker in international energy conferences.

Ms. Peralta is Director of Origination at CIFI. She is an experienced senior energy executive with a history of working in renewable energy projects in at least 10 different jurisdictions. She has a strong understanding of energy business, renewables, and clean energy from technical, financial, commercial, legal, and regulatory perspectives. Before CIFI, she served in business development and project finance positions with Thermion, InterEnergy, and Odebrecht. Ms. Peralta has an MBA from Barna Business School and a MSc and a Civil Engineering degree from ITAM in the Dominican Republic.

Mr. Phillips is a seasoned Business Development professional with a broad background in: Power Generation, Power Transmission and Distribution, and infrastructure capital and life-cycle planning. Prior to joining Wartsila as Business Development Manager, his professional roles included: Regional Manager for Quanta Services Caribbean business unit, Project Manager for SEPAC manufacturing, T&D system planning and operation for Dayton Power and Light (DPL) and Plant Operator for the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSco). Mr. Phillips received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University, and an MBA from Campbell University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Phillips is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio, and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a past member of the CARILEC Board of Representatives.

Mr. Picasso is a business development manager with more than 12 years’ experience in electrical engineering and management, for international and domestic power, oil & gas, mining & minerals, and in EPC and OEM global companies. Currently for Wärtsilä he is responsible for developing EPC energy solutions in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua . Earlier experience includes project engineer manager for Shell and Jacobs. Mr. Picasso has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana, Monroe.

Ms. Quan-Vie has over 23 years’ experience, including business development and risk management in the upstream, midstream, and downstream areas of the oil and gas sectors. Prior to joining the NGC, she held the position of commercial manager at the BG Group. She worked as the commercial lead on business development and exploration activities in Trinidad and Nigeria. Ms. Quan-Vie has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the West Indies – St. Augustine Campus, and a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration (Oil & Gas) from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Ms. Rechsteiner has worked on energy, infrastructure, and related projects in the U.S. and throughout Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Her work in the area of international energy transactions has included advising U.S. energy companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, cross-border acquisitions, joint venture tax-planning, equipment sale and leasing transactions, and the development and financing of energy projects and acquisitions. In addition, she has assisted governments in a number of Latin American countries with the privatization of their energy industries and the restructuring of their energy regulatory frameworks. She has also advised clients, including state owned Chinese companies in the acquisition of upstream oil and gas assets throughout Latin America and Africa. Ms. Rechsteiner has a JD from George Washington University Law School and a BS from the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service.

Juan Ignacio Rubiolo has over 19 years of experience in energy and electricity markets in America and Asia. He has served in a number of leadership roles in Strategic, Financial and Commercial Planning areas, as well as Project Management, Business Development, Commodities Risk Management, Structure of Products and Commercial contracts for electricity markets, Commodities and Risk Management. Juan Ignacio joined AES Corporation in 2001 in Argentina and he has gone through different countries holding several leadership roles in The Philippines, Panama, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. From March 2018, he leads the region for AES of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, as President & CEO. Some of his major achievements are the structuring of the Joint Ventures in Mexico (with Grupo BAL) and Dominican Republic (with Enargas) to accelerate clean growth on renewables and natural gas respectively; closing of the first export of energy from AES San Nicolas to Brazil, the development of business strategies, Risk Management, and origination teams in AES in Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico and The Philippines; the business development model for the expansion of the natural gas market in Dominican Republic, with more than 2 Mtpa of sales contracted, the development of +600MW of renewable capacity int the region and negotiated more than 1 GW of new PPAs. Juan Ignacio has also advised other AES businesses in the structuring of business models in competitive and emerging markets. Juan Ignacio has a Master’s degree in project management at Quebec University, Canada; and a BSc degree in Business Administration awarded by Universidad Austral of Argentina. He has also completed executive business and leadership programs at Business Darden School, Virginia, USA.

Ms. Shine brings 16 years of structured finance experience to Invenergy, where she is responsible for leading transactions in the US and Latin America. She has negotiated and executed over $1.5 billion in debt, tax equity, and cash equity transactions for solar, wind, and natural gas projects in North America, and most recently closed two multilateral debt financings totaling nearly $780 million for El Salvador’s first LNG-to-power project. Prior to joining Invenergy in 2014, she spent several years at Sun Edison, a US solar developer where she raised several sale leaseback funds to deploy distributed generation solar projects across the US and Puerto Rico. She has also held various banking and advisory positions at SMBC and Delphos International. Ms. Shine earned a Master’s in International Economics and Latin American Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Rice University.

Mr. Stewart is a Senior Energy Analyst on the Refinitiv Oils Research Team in Houston, where he analyzes nascent trends in the Western Hemisphere’s crude oil and refined products markets. He is the co-creator and co-host of Refinitiv’s popular podcast, “The Rundown Tank: America’s Oil.” Prior to joining Refinitiv earlier this year, he worked on Valero Energy Corporation’s strategic planning and market analysis team. There he engaged in fundamental and technical market analysis and regularly consulted to C-level executives and other senior leaders. Mr. Stewart holds a JD from St. Mary’s University School of Law and was an editor on the school’s flagship law review.

Mr. Suvisaari is Energy Business Director, Latin America North at Wartsila. He leads both the new build energy business and the services business in the region. Mr. Suvisaari has a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and International Marketing from the Helsinki University of Technology in Helsinki, Finland.

Mr. Zamora is country manager for Inkia Energy Nicaragua, Tipitapa Power Company, and the electric power operations of Corinto, Amayo I and Amayo II. He is president of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Energy. Previously, he served as the director of DELSUR in El Salvador, the PQP in Guatemala, and developed Pedregal Power in Panama. He is the former president of the American Chamber of Commerce of Nicaragua, vice president of Cosep Nicaragua, and vice president/treasurer of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Zamora has BA and MA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
