Western Bulk
Vivek is Managing Director at Western Bulk & is based out of Singapore. He holds a Degree in Marine Engineering and is also a fellow of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Apart from his administrative role at Western Bulk, he is also responsible for company’s business in Asia, West Coast South America, New projects and overseeing important global customers for the company. Vivek has started and is managing multiple businesses both in bulk and break-bulk sectors in India/Middle East/Africa and Australia. He joined WBC as operations Manager and has been with them for about 12 years, rising progressively through various ranks to now as Managing Director. Previous experiences include dry bulk broker with Braemar Seascope and engineer with NYK on board their ships.

Ralph Leszczynski is in charge of the research and consultancy department at Banchero Costa, the Italian shipbroking and shipping services group.
Born in Gdynia, Poland, he grew up in Italy and then in Britain. Following his A-Level studies in London, he graduated in Economics and Statistics from University College London, in the UK. He also holds a Masters degree in Financial Management from ESC Rouen, France.
In 2001, Ralph joined Banchero Costa's ship finance department in Genoa, Italy. There he offered clients advise on financial structures and solutions, whilst also working on shipping market analysis and forecasting.
Since 2004 he helped develop the research activities of the group.
In 2008 he moved to banchero costa's Beijing office, so to be at the core of the increasingly important Asian market. In the 7 years he was based there, he traveled extensively throughout China and elsewhere in Asia, and occasionally tried to work on his Chinese language skills.
Since May 2014 he is based in Singapore.
Ralph's work focuses primarily on dry bulk shipping, but he also follows closely the crude and product tankers markets, as well as LNG.

Peter joined Platts in 2013 having served in a variety of roles providing research and reporting on freight markets since 1998. Prior to joining Platts, Peter was Research Director for Freight Investor Services between 2010 and 2013, where he was responsible for providing market intelligence for FIS's clients and its brokers. Peter covered dry bulk markets as a Director at SSY Consultancy & Research from 2002 to 2010, and covered freight markets for Informa Maritime & Transport and Baltic Publishing in 1998-2002. Peter has a degree in English Language & Literature from Christ Church, at the University of Oxford.

Pradeep Rajan leads the team of editors based in Singapore who are responsible for Platts coverage of the Asia Pacific shipping markets. He was the first tanker market editor to join the team, and was closely involved in the launch of the Dry Freight Wire – Platts’ first publication covering Capesize, Panamax, Supramax, Handymax and Handysize segments. Pradeep has spoken extensively at Platts and international oil and shipping forums and with the media. Prior to joining Platts, Pradeep worked for Singapore’s national newspaper – The Straits Times – as a financial journalist at its Money Desk. He has a Masters in journalism and mass communication from India’s University of Mysore.

Shriram Sivaramakrishnan is an Editor covering the Asia Pacific Dry Bulk markets. He is based at the Singapore office and has been with Platts for more than five years. Shriram comes with a background in trading shipping derivatives in his previous position with a dry bulk shipping company. He has a Master in Business Administration from India’s Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

Andrei is heading the Asia Pacific Agricultural unit for S&P Global Platts. He oversees a multitude of Agricultural commodities including Wheat, Corn, Oilseeds, Sugar and Biofuels. Andrei’s experience lies in physical softs commodities markets and how these transition to sophisticated exchange listed contracts. His previous work experience was concentrated in investment banking and risk management. He holds a Masters degree in Finance from Toulouse Business School, France.

Jeffery Lu is S&P Global Platts Managing Editor, Metallurgical Coal, based in Singapore. Jeffery has been in the international commodity business for more than 10 years and has hands-on experience with building supply and demand models, analyzing trade flows as well as producing price forecasts. Before starting his career in the metals business, Jeffery spent the past decade in agriculture as research analyst with some time spent as a trader, for some of the largest commodity firms globally including Noble Group, Czarnikow Group and RCMA Group. Jeffery has a master’s degree in intercultural business communication.

Jun Kai is an Associate Editor with the S&P Global Platts Iron Ore team, being responsible for the pricing valuation of iron ore products. He graduated with a Business Management degree from Singapore Management University in 2017.
Lead Analyst, Global Coal Analytics

Matthew Boyle is the lead analyst of the Global Coal Analytics team for S&P Global Platts, based in Singapore. He has over 13 years of experience in thermal and metallurgical coal in roles spanning research, consulting and commercial aspects. Prior to joining S&P Global Platts Analytics, Matthew covered the thermal coal, metallurgical coal and petcoke markets for Vale, Goldman Sachs, Oldendorff, CRU and Wood Mackenzie. These roles were based in Sydney, Brisbane and Singapore.
Matthew has detailed commodity and financial modelling and analysis experience, including commodity evaluations, discount cash flow analysis, coal marketing and linear programming. Matthew also undertaken and directed a multiple bespoke consulting projects and managed many analytical models and reports, including helping to establish CRU’s thermal coal research products.
Matthew has a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Economic Geography from the University of Sydney and has undertaken a number of industry-related short courses in coke making and iron making from McMaster University.
